Driving Profit & Sustainability: Green Car Wash’s Winning Combo with Evolution Automated Dog Wash

At Green Car Wash and Dog Wash, innovation and sustainability go hand in hand. With five locations and two offering self-serve dog wash stations, this locally owned business is redefining what a community car wash can be.

From cars and trucks to bikes and dogs, we’re here to get it clean!” says Matt Fisher, owner of Green Car Wash and Dog Wash. “We provide environmentally responsible facilities for our customers’ various washing needs. It’s all about offering convenience without compromising on quality.”

From Soap to Success: The Dog Wash Journey

The idea to expand into dog washing came from both customer demand and a simple business insight: underutilized space could become a revenue-generating, value-adding service.

Matt shares, “We had success at one location with a single dog wash, so it made sense to replicate that when we remodeled another site.

The team converted three self-service bays at an older car wash location—one for new in-bay automatic car wash machines, and the remaining space became two indoor dog washing stations. With existing plumbing and drainage already in place, the setup was a smooth transition.

Why Evolution Dog Wash?

Choosing the right equipment was crucial, and for Matt, Evolution Dog Wash stood out for multiple reasons.

The quality of the equipment was the most important factor for me,” he explains. “But also, the machines look great, they’re easy to use, and the Evolution team has been awesome to work with.

Plus, by partnering with Evolution Dog Wash, whose timed cycles and precision pumps ensure just the right amount of soap and water is used, we’re able to significantly reduce product waste, water consumption, and electricity usage—delivering a cleaner wash with a lighter environmental footprint.

Currently, Green Car Wash and Dog Wash operates three Evolution machines – one location has two units, and another features a single unit. Plans are already in motion to add more in the coming years.

Clean Dogs, Cleaner Profits

The impact of adding the dog wash stations has been substantial.

It’s a no-brainer, honestly,” Matt says. “They don’t take up any space that would otherwise generate revenue and add real value for our customers.

The numbers speak for themselves:

  • The newly remodeled location sees an average of 50 dog washes per week, with growth trending upward. This is over $26k/year in revenue.
  • The established location averages 80–100 washes per week. This is over $42k/year in revenue.
  • With a $10 minimum per wash, plus the option to add more time, these washes are providing purely incremental revenue.

Converting Bays to Cash

While exact numbers are hard to break out due to a broader remodel, Matt estimates the total cost for the dog wash station build-out (excluding the machines) was about $30,000.

“We added just two masonry walls, installed new lighting, commercial-grade doors, plumbing, and a time-of-use water heater. That’s all it took to turn unused space into a solid revenue stream.”

A Subscription for the Whole Pack

To make things even easier for customers, Green Car Wash and Dog Wash uses the Evolution Dog Wash App for their membership services.

Their base plan is $25/month, which includes access to self-service wash bays and the basic in-bay automatic wash. For just $5/month more, customers can add dog wash access to their plan.

It’s an attractive add-on for anyone with a pet,” Matt notes. “And our customers love it—we get a lot of 4- and 5-star Google reviews just about the dog washes alone.”

Final Thoughts

Green Car Wash and Dog Wash is a great example of how small businesses can think creatively, maximize space, and deliver high-value services that keep tails wagging—and profits flowing.

As Matt puts it best, “At the end of the day, it’s about making life easier for our customers. If they can wash their car and their pup in one stop, and feel good about the environmental impact, we’ve done our job right.
