You know that the self serve dog wash industry is really taking off when you see an article in a recent trade publication read by many car wash owners.
At Evolution Dog Wash, our sales team is reporting many more inquiries from car wash owners looking for a coin-operated or self serve dog wash to get more sales from a wash bay that isn’t being used.
Part of the reason, the new self serve dog washes are so popular with car wash owners is because, unlike typical tub dog washes, there is no need for a regular attendant. Customers can wash their dog using a credit card or coins and they can dry their dog with the completely safe blow dry system that is built in. There is no need to keep towels around that constantly need washed and replenished.
Another reason for the popularity of self serve dog washes with car wash owners is that they can fit three or four dog washes in a typical wash bay. See the possible dog wash layouts here.
The real reason that car wash owners are adding dog washes to their properties is that they can quickly recoup their investment by generating new customers who may wash their car at home, but don’t like washing their dog in their bathtub. Of course, they also pick up more business from their current car wash customers who will now bring their dog along.
No matter the reason, it’s great to see the car wash industry starting to realize that they can increase their profits by adding a self serve dog wash to their business.
