Small Town Kansas Car Wash Sees Big Increase in Traffic after Adding an Evolution Dog Wash

Two years ago, Robert Atchison opened The Wolf Wash, a car wash serving residents in Lebo and Osage City, KS. At the recommendation of his wife, Atchison installed an Evolution Dog Wash, increasing service offerings to his customers and residents in the area.

To accommodate the dog wash machine, Atchison added an extra room, next to his office. The 7-ft by 14-ft room is climate controlled with a glass door and dog prints on the walls.

Atchison admits he was at first reluctant to add the dog wash to his business, but it has proven to be a worthwhile investment. “Some days the dog wash does better than the car wash,” he says. “And, the dog wash has already paid for itself.”

The Wolf Wash Dog Wash, which is located off I-35 near a new Casey’s General Store and is open daily from 8 am to 8 pm averages 35 dog washes each week, which equates to approximately $1,120 to $1,400 per month in revenue. “We are doing really well and the customer feedback has been great,” says Atchison. The Wolf Wash gets a lot of trucker traffic (a lot of truckers have dogs) and people from all over the surrounding towns about 20 minutes away come see us. The majority of our traffic happens on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. And on the weekends when the weather is nice, we will have people non-stop, waiting in line.”

When it came to choosing a dog wash for his business, Atchison did his research on the options available. “I looked at other self-serve dog wash options, but the Evolution Dog Wash is the best one made,” he says. “It’s high quality and looks the best. Other dog washes don’t even come close to the Evolution Dog Wash. Plus it’s absolutely no maintenance.”
